About the site:
This website helps display and educates viewers about the old Indian fable of
Numskull and the Rabbit. It has information pertaining to what the story is about and
different visuals, including pictures, videos, and a blog which helps viewers understand the
story and the characters perspectives in an easy manner.
The Numskull and the rabbit is actually a friendly tale about cunning tricks and
bravery. It taught young children about pride and how too much of it can create unwanted
consequences. After a lion named Numskull roams the jungle eating any animal he so
chooses, the animals decide to make a pact with Numskull and say he will be given one
animal every day. As the days go on, a small white rabbit decides to face Numskull and
trick him into his doom.
Tales from the Panchatantra were originally written for princes and princesses. A King or Queen would tell these stories to their children and heirs to teach them valuable lessons about ruling a country. The Panchatantra taught children lessons like unjust rulers never stay in power, it is the people who hold the true power, or a king should serve its people and not the other way around. The Panchatantra shows how evil rulers like Numskull always have a gruesome end.
